Jewelry Making Tools

Before I really knew how to make jewelry, I… didn’t! I think I thought fine jewelry was made by little elves. Here are some of my favorite and most necessary and useful tools in my studio! Stay tuned for a later blog post on how I use these tools!

Wax carving tools and digital calipers for measuring

Tweezers and holders of all kinds and eye and mouth protection with a flexible shaft machine

Mandrels and soldering equipment

Soldering station

Inspiration board of photos from my travels

Loupe for magnification

Close up on loupe

Files of all sorts

Hammers

Soldering accessories and apron. My african print apron is from Nest in San Francisco and one of my favorite things :)

Torch

  • I just discovered your blog and jewelry through the Daily Candy feature… congratulations! I really love your necklaces; boulder opal is one of my favorite stones and your presentation is very original. This post about your tools and equipment is great, but it makes me so jealous of your setup! I dream of having my own studio and hope that one day I’ll be able to. :)
